The Willow Hill Players
The Willow Hill Players was founded during the 2006-2007 school year. Since then, we have had over 150 actors and 100 crew members participate in almost 14 shows ~ comedies, musicals, and dramas. This season, our Advanced Actor's Workshop presented Arthur Miller's All My Sons, and the full Players group will present Willow Hill's second original play addressing the challenges of being a teenager in this millennium.
Our students are responsible for design, costumes, sets, lights, sound and even original music for each of our productions, and they are led by student crew chiefs and student stage managers. Some of our students have gone on to major in theatre or technical theatre in college.
Classes in set construction, technical theatre, costuming and advanced acting are electives, available during the school day. Rehearsals for the actors take place after school. Students are encouraged to participate as both crew and actors, in order to promote a unified team approach to each production. In addition, the theatre and athletic faculty coordinate schedules to make sports available to theatre participants as much as is possible.
